Pieters in Pursuit of 1st Major

 In Tour News

Thomas Pieters has had quite the week so far in his first Masters appearance.

After racing out of the gates yesterday to 5 under through 10 holes, he gave a few back at Amen Corner ending up at level par for the day.  But Pieters wasn’t about to let that from stopping his birdie barrage. Pieters began his attack today on the 9th hole by holing a 23′ birdie putt with his custom Toulon Design San Diego.  Pieters then hit a spectacular shot from the pine straw on the par-5 13th hole to 9′ which he knocked in for eagle.

Pieters will head into the weekend with a share of the lead and a green jacket within reach.  He would become only the second player to win The Masters in his first appearance.
