If you were to model your putting after anyone, Steve Stricker’s name would be on a very short list of the game’s greatest.
One thing we’ve become very familiar with over the years (since 2002) is the Odyssey White Hot #2 in the Wisconsin native’s hands. Without a doubt, this legendary flatstick is Stricker’s “Billy Baroo,” and we don’t envision that changing anytime soon. And Odyssey is thrilled to have our 2020 U.S. Ryder Cup Captain, Steve Stricker, join the team.
Steve’s career is a model in perseverance, perhaps best exemplified with winning back-to-back Comeback Player of the Year awards on the PGA TOUR in 2006 and 2007. After three wins in the late 90s and early 2000s and several close calls in majors, Stricker struggled with his game. But he continued to stay focused and grind, setting himself up for an inspiring resurgence in which he climbed all the way up to No. 2 in the world. From ’07-’12, Stricker won nine times. His putting stands out as an extraordinary strength that’s propelled him to his distinguished career.
Sticker’s Champions Tour career is destined to be among the Tour’s all-time greats. At 52, Steve has already won five Champions Tour events including two Majors. In his 21 career Champions Tour appearances, Stricker has posted 17 Top 10s and 19 Top 25s.
There is nobody more fitting to comment on Steve Stricker joining Odyssey than Odyssey GM and fellow Madison, Wisconsin native Sean Toulon:
“It’s a pretty cool day at Odyssey,” Toulon said. “Actually, most days are pretty cool here but this one is special. Today we have the pleasure to announce that Steve Stricker has officially become a member of our Odyssey Tour team. Steve has long been one of the great players in the game and is well known for his talents on the greens. Throughout most of his long and storied career, Steve has trusted in Odyssey as his putter of choice. We couldn’t be more proud to have him on our team. Welcome to Odyssey Steve!”
